Case study: Upper East Side Co-op deck
Photo of completed project – built-in bench to the left incorporates planter at the back and storage underneath. More planters are built into the railing at the back, and in front of the fence, to the right. Sustainable harvested clear cedar planks were use throughout the project.
Sketches illustrate the concept of the new elevated deck, and the various features. The work extended at the other side of the new fence, at the neighboring unit.
Like in most of our projects, a 3-model was built to plan the work step-by-step. Pictured above: (a) outdoor area after demolition of existing deck (b) wood frame to support the new, elevated platform (c) the new wood decking installed, and (d) the new fence, built-in railings and bench.
